Bare Betty
Thursday will be my 38 week mark. I can't believe how fast this went by!
My doctor said at my next appointment we are going to set an induction date...that is if she doesn't come before that. I'm already dilated almost 3 cm. Jesse's mom called the 21st or 22nd, so we will see if she is right. :) Either way, I will have a baby before my original due date of April 30th. I've started packing the overnight hospital bag, which makes it more real. I even packed some dominoes and cards, so me and Jes can try to play games to keep me distracted. haha
The closer it gets, the more and more nervous I get about the labor part. As much as I am going to try to go natural, I'm not sure if I will make it. I really like and trust my doctor; word around town is she is the best. I know I will be in good hands.
I don't know why it has taken me so long to post a bare belly pic, but here is my 37 week bare belly pic. I'm lucky to not have gotten too many stretch marks. I have one tiny one on my belly, and a couple on my sides and legs. I guess it's just inevitable no matter how much bio oil or cococut oil I use.
This is my view when I look down. I can't see my feet anymore. You can kind of see she likes to hang out on the right side. Sometimes, my belly is completely lopsided and tilted to the right.
I'm still having some trouble with feet swelling. This is what they look like on a good day. haha
The sweet cravings continue as well. In this photo, I took strawberries and a banana, melted dark chocolate and peanut butter, then drizzled it on top. I served it on the side of cookies and cream ice cream. SO GOOD. No wonder I've gained almost 40 lbs during pregnancy! Not much of that weight is the baby either. At my last appointment, she only weighed 6 lbs and 11oz.
I think Winnie can tell things are changing. She is definitely more cuddly towards Jes and me. This is her on a Sunday morning saying "Wake up, Dad!"
Indie moves around so much! I've tried to keep tabs on her movement schedule to see if it's the same when she comes out. So far, during the day she moves 7:00am, 10:30am, 2:30-3:00pm, 6:00pm, and 10:00-11:00pm. At night, I am having trouble sleeping still. Part of my sleeping trouble is due to back /hip pain, having to pee five times a night, and Indie moving every couple of hours. I hope this doesn't mean she is a night owl! But, this night light Tammy got her says she just might be a night owl. haha It's really cute! I love how it is personalized.
Indie is a bit camera shy though. She will be moving around a lot and as soon as I hit "record," she stops. lol I did manage to catch her moving in this clip...mainly in the middle of the clip.
This is her moving at around 3:00pm in the day. She is most active at this time and late night. I think I was around 37 weeks here.
One night, I was watching TV ( Futurama) and she really started moving when the music came on! When she comes out, she's probably going to recognize the theme songs from Futurama, Orange is the New Black, Walking Dead, and Cheers. Those are the shows I've watched most since being pregnant. lol
I should be getting to see mine and Jesse's pics soon too, so I'm excited about that!
Oh and Jesse's mom found a way for us to make a little money with Indie.
We are going to be millionaires! haha

Bonus Betty
I am now 37 weeks along. She just might be coming early too, because last time I went to the doctor, I was already dilated and 50% effaced. Who knows though, I could stay like that for the remainder of the pregnancy.
As far as pregnancy goes, I'm starting to get more and more uncomfortable...not enough to want to go into labor yet though. I'm still not ready mentally. I suppose I better get that way soon! lol
I have to pee at least 6x a night. Since I can only sleep on my sides now, my arms fall asleep fast. I'm constantly tossing and turning all night or readjusting my body pillow. At least I'm getting used to the no sleep thing. haha My feet are also staying swollen and indigestion has become a bother. I also keep getting new stretch marks no matter how much coconut and bio oil I use. I guess that is just part of it.
Something embarrassing happened ( at home...thank goodness.) I had just gotten out of the shower. I was naked in the kitchen. I sneezed and since I'm having trouble with incontinence, you can imagine what happened. Jes looked confused and said, "Did you just pee on the floor?" I shamefully replied, "Yes." He said, "Well...you cleanin' it up." HAHA No sympathy.
Jesse left for New Orleans a week ago to go to a conference to present a paper he is working on this semester. He has also been working tirelessly to finish his thesis. He has written over 100 pages. I don't know how he does it and still works full time. Anyway, I hate when he is gone, so I tried to find things to keep myself busy. I had visitors over almost everyday, or I went to other friend's houses. I got a prenatal massage again, which was fantastic. It makes my back feel so much better the next day. I also visited the salon and got a hair trim since I am trying to grow out my hair again.
Jesse also brought me back a gift from New Orleans.
It is a voodoo goddess doll. She can be used for good or evil. Here's how she works: You place on the doll a piece of hair, clothing, etc. of the person you want to fixate on. Then you meditate on this person and the good or evil you want to come to them. If you want something good to happen to this person, you stick a pin in the heart. If you want something bad to happen to this person, you stick a pin in the stomach. I haven't used her yet, because everyone is on my good side. hahah jk. I don't believe in voodoo, but it's still a fun trinket.
....Speaking of gifts.
We have been blessed with so many of our family and friends coming and showering with love and gifts. I thought I would share some of what baby morrow has received. These pictures do not even put a dent in how many gifts we have gotten. I haven't had time to take pictures of everything yet, but this is a start.
My best friend Gabby sent the most thoughtful gifts. This one, and the homemade headbands ( which I don't have a picture of yet...darn it) , are very sentimental to me because she made them with her own two hands. She is so crafty and creative.
I LOVE the colors and prints on this quilt she made. It is very burtonesque. We both have a deep love for Tim Burton's style. I almost would rather hang it on the wall than use it. I don't want baby morrow to mess it up. lol I can't imagine how long this took, or how much work she put into it, but it means so much to me to have hand crafted item I can keep forever.
Gabby also sent me adorable printed strawberry diapers. Another item almost too cute to use.
She also sent towels, washcloths, a play mat, adorable outfits, these bibs, and the monkey toy below. I will post pics of the outfits when baby morrow can wear them. It's cuter to see her in the clothes.
Gabby also made sure the crazy Texarkana drivers will know WE HAVE A BABY ON BOARD SO CALM THE EFF DOWN WITH YOUR ROAD RAGE. haha
Another FANTASTIC gift Gabby sent are these Alice in Wonderland prints. I am so in love with them.
She knows me too well. I love the teal/robin egg blue frames I found for them too.
I actually want to use this gift for my own bedroom instead of for baby morrow. lol
It's a starlight projector. It plays classical music, calming water noises, and projects color changing stars onto the wall.
So cool!
Baby has been gifted tons of blankets, quilts, linens, towels, muslin cloths, and receiving blankets...all of which will be used.
There were some gifts I've been waiting to post because they were customized with her name. I think it's time to go ahead and come out in the open with her name. Most people already know it anyway, because I can't keep that kind of thing secret.
This is a cool gift a friend, Liz, made for her. It's a book shelf made from a pallet. We still need to hang it up. I love seeing how crafty my friends are though! This is such a cool and unique gift. And yes, her name is Indie.
Dad bought this co-sleeper/ bassinet for Indie. Don't worry, it is not going to stay by the window. It is only there for now. :) It will actually be side by side to our bed.
You can also see a neat monogrammed burp cloth my friend Jennifer bought for her.
...also I have a chevron changing pad in there for now. I'm debating if I should use it as a matress or not. The matress that came in the co-sleeper is very thin and hard.
Our friend Venus had another cool quilt made for Indie.
Here's a muslin cloth monogrammed with her initials- ISM. It stands for Indie Sofia Morrow. I love how her initials are ISM. haha
A close-up of the monogrammed burp cloth.
My boss gave me this catepillar for Indie. I think it will be cute in her future Alice in Wonderland themed room. I'm slowly collecting Alice merch for when Indie can have her own room.
Jesse's sister gave me another canvas to complete my collection. I already had the top two, but she gave me the bottom one to top it off.
Venus gave me this portable sleeper that can rock the baby to sleep. This will definitely come in handy when it comes to traveling!
Venus also gave me this swing for baby Indie. I don't have room for a glider in my apartment, so I'm glad she will have a way to be rocked to sleep.
Our friends from work all chipped in and bought this car seat. It is one she can grow with and even use when she is a toddler. I'm so thankful to receive such a useful gift.
My grandparents bought me this space save high chair, since we are limited on space right now. It conveniently hooks into a regular kitchen table chair.
Indie is going to have an awesome play area. My dad and brother bought her this kick and play piano play mat.
I'm happy to receive this stroller cooler as well, because our stroller doesn't have a basket on it. This will work perfectly!
Indie also received many medicines and bath time goodies.
I liked this tub because it also can grow with her. It can be used as an infant, with the sling, and as a toddler later on.
My boss gave me this for my car. It keeps the sun out of her face!
I imagine car seat belts are uncomfortable. I'm glad to have been gifted with these straps that will hopefully make it more "bear-able"...pun intended. hahah
Speaking of bears, this is the bear I carried until I was...well too old to be carrying a bear. My mamaw and papaw gave it to me the day I was born. I never got into baby dolls much, but I was very attached to this little toy. I used to put diapers on her, earrings, doll dresses. I used to carry her with me EVERYWHERE. She even has a burned spot on her butt from when I sat her on the stove. I hope to give this bear to Indie. Maybe she will like playing with her as much as I did. I can't believe I still have this bear, being now 27 years old.
More of the burp cloths and linens for Indie.
This is a sling that I can use when Indie is older. I plan to do a lot of baby wearing.
My dad bought us a carrier like this too. I requested for him to get a neutral color so Jesse could wear it too. hahah
We have stocked up on diapers for sure!
Like I said earlier, Indie has gotten SO many adorable outfits. I don't think this child will be wearing the same outfit twice for at least 6 months. I didn't take pictures of all the outfits, because I will already be doing that while she is wearing them. haha
I will have to post more of the gift later, but as you can see, we are all feeling the love!
