We tried to find things to do to keep ourselves busy, so our minds would ease a bit. We went to the park, went and got icees, took the dog for a walk.
Everyone thought I would go into labor early, even me, but I must have made a comfy little nest for Indie in there because she didn't come early.
Daddy and I went to the bathroom sooooo many times that day. Lol Our nerves had our stomach in knots. We were scared to meet you. I was scared of the pain to come and your daddy was scared to have to see me be in pain.
I wanted her to come when she was ready, but i had to be induced due to high blood pressure.
I checked into the hospital at 8 pm on the 26th.
I came in dilated 2cm. and I began getting pitocin at 9pm. The contractions starting getting uncomfortable at around 11pm. It's 1:00am as I type this now. I feel the contractions more in my back more than anything. It feels like a really really bad menstrual cramp.
I'm starting to get emotional too...crying over everything. Jes just showed me part of the push present he got me. It made me cry of how sweet jes is to think of buying me a gift like that. It was a diamond necklace (diamond is your birthstone, Indie.) The diamond was inside two silver baby feet, and inside the other foot was your name...such a sweet and thoughtful gift.
The contractions got worse and unbearable, so I opted for the epidural. Jes said before he left the room, I was gripping the bed until my hands were purple. I remember moaning and getting the shakes because it hurt so bad. When he came back into the room after the epidural, he said I was smiling. Lol.
After that, labor was a breeze. I pushed for an hour...pain free. Indie didn't want to come out. Her heart rate started dropping so Dr.Bingham used the suction vacuum thing to help get her out.
Indie Sofia Morrow made her way into the world on April 27th at 8:52am. She weighed 6lbs and 15 oz and was 20 inches long. She is absolutely perfect, and I never knew love like this.

She's the baby, but I was the one crying. Lol
The resemblance is uncanny.
Her first day out of the apartment was a visit with the pediatrician. She had a tongue tie we had to get clipped. It was causing a bad breastfeeding latch, and they said it could also cause a speech impediment later on. She didn't cry at all!!
We still had some breastfeeding difficulty, so her weight dropped. I had to start pumping and bottle feeding, which apparently worked because at the next pediatrician visit, her weight went up from 6.1 to 6.8. I do hope to eventually try to get her to latch on again though. That way, I won't ave to keep cleaning bottles.
She is a sleepy head. And when she is out...she is OUT. I'm glad she is a heavy sleeper, so we don't have to tip- toe around.
She did get one thing from me, a sleepy head that sleeps with her mouth open.
Daddy and his little girl...SO SWEET.
Love of my life.
She loves having her hands near her face. When I swaddle her, she eventually squirms until her arms are free. She's a little escape artist!
