May 29th:
I was so excited my bestie came to see us! We hadn't seen in each other in so long, and I'm so glad Indie got to meet her Aunt Gabby. Indie helped contribute to Aunt Gabby's baby fever too. :P
I know it was probably not the most convenient trip for them to make, coming to see us in Texarkana, after making a long drive from Tuscon, but I'm so happy they did!! I got to see Arabella too! I haven't seen her since she was Indie's size! She is a big girl now, walking, talking, playing with her vivid imagination. ( She was putting a T-Rex in Indie's bath tub and playing. It was so cute.) It's always neat seeing your bestie as a momma too. Anyway, I'm glad Gabby understood this worrisome new momma wasn't ready to drive with my baby in the car, and took the time to come visit us.
Gabby, Danny, and Arabella had to split before this storm came. It was so rainy that week! I loved it.
Indie was enjoying the rain and looking out the window with me.
May 30th:
So, I wasn't cool with it, but Jes and I realllly had to get out of the apartment. We had been stuck in there since Indie was born, and we wanted to have a nice dinner that we didn't have to cook. We packed up Indie and headed to Gusanos for my favorite sandwich, the godfather. It has Italian meatballs, salami, pepperoni, banana peppers, cheese, black olives, marina, on ciabatta. I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it. Indie did very well eating with us. We were afraid she would cry the whole time. She only got fussy once because she wanted out of her car seat. After that, it was all good.
We made it back home safe, just in time for Indie to make cute, happy baby noises.
We decided to do a momma and daughter quick photo shoot.
Then, Indie watched daddy play video games.
Indie is such a good baby. She pretty much sleeps all through the night. She is a sleepy head, like her momma. At this point, Indie liked playing the game "I'm going to pee when you take my diaper off." I hate hearing Indie cry, but when she does, it's the cutest cry. It sounds more like a cough than a cry. Her I'm really-pissed-off cry sounds more like a goat...or like she is sitting on top of the washing machine.
June 1-5:
Oh, Indie, Momma is tired! haha You have been keeping me on my toes, but I love every minute of it.
almost two months old now. Can't believe how fast it goes. Here are her likes and dislikes at this point:
Likes: momma's milk, the binky, being held, the swing and mobile...
...playmats
...snuggling in momma and daddy's bed...
...and likes to fight sleep...
...sometimes. :)
Oh the many, expressions on this beautiful face of Indie.
This picture she looks juuuust like her daddy. I called it her "sneaky suspicion" face. Jes calls it her "I call bullshit" face. haha
Indie catching one of her 20 min cat naps.
Family photo op!
My Mom and sister came to see us. She is sitting pretty on Gram's shoulder.
Looks like she is thinking about something.
T-Maw said , "She looks ready for broadway" in this pic.
June 8:
Indie loves smiling, especially at her daddy.
June 10:
Not happy on June 11th:
but just for a second.
June 13th: Wearing the headband I made.
Cute little monkey.
Who looks this stylish before bed? Indie!
June 14th: Indie dressed in her rockabilly get-up. My friend Hillary made her the barefoot sandals and headband! SO ADORABLE!
June 16th: Some days, we would just play dress-up, even if we had nowhere to go or nothing to do. haha
June 17th:
So I only breastfed Indie for about four weeks, even though she doesn't look like it. haha She is a formula baby at this point.
Not that I didn't try to breastfed; I tried my little heart out. There were too many complications...low supply, tongue-tie, bad latches, which leads to scabbed nipples, and an emotional wreck of a mom who thinks her baby is starving.
Alongside of all that...there was this hormonal related rash. This and the post-partum poo situation makes me want to wait a loooong time before baby number two.
I was about to lose my mind with itching and scratching. This rash was EVERYWHERE with no relief. Itching really is enough to make a person go insane after 3 weeks. I finally went to two different doctors and found relief eventually. After stopping breastfeeding, it went away. But in the meantime, it was miserable.
June 21st: Jesse had his first Father's Day with Indie. They are both wearing their Super hero shirts :)
June 25:
Speaking of miserable, Indie wasn't feeling the getting dressed thing today. I think it is because she HATES wearing headbands.
June 26: She was feeling better about getting dressed up this day though. She was already wearing 3-6 months clothes at this point!
One of my friends who had a baby girl a couple weeks ahead of me inspired me to do this. She made a shadowbox for her daughter. Once I saw it on instagram, I had to do one for Indie. I included her sonogram pic, her hospital cap, her first picture, her footprints from the hospital, and a flower/card that Tammy and Jeff sent us in the hospital.
Indie also had a visit from Papa Scott and Uncle Brad.
Uncle Brad wouldn't hold her when she was a fresh newborn, but once she got a little bigger and stronger, he was ready to cuddle.
Jesse's folks said he HATED his car seat. I'm really glad Indie did not inherit that trait from her daddy.
She did inherit something from me: the love of stuffed animals. I carried my bear around until I was about 12 years old. lol I wonder if Indie will be the same with Wubby.
Indie's Gram came to visit her too. She was being a little fussy pants that day though. You can't tell in this pic because she is resting peacefully on Gram's chest.
...and shoulder.
June 28: Like I said... Indie loves her stuffed animal friends.
June 29: Indie had to go to the doctor to get her two month shots. She was not.a.fan. She was a fussy pants again the entire night (understandably so). Putting her legs in a warm bath seemed to help the most with finding relief for my poor baby. I hate when she hurts. She wasn't the only one crying.
Two month check-up today. Her little chunky butt weighs 12 lbs., and she is 23 inches long
I started a scrapbook for Indie. I did it during her nap times when I should have been sleeping. lol Mom's really have to sacrifice their hygiene and sleep to find some alone time.
Here's are a few of the pages I've started for her.
I'm going to try my best to keep up with this and give it to her on her birthday when she is older.
I want to do that with journal I am writing for her too.
All that crafting makes for a tired momma and baby.
I love co-sleeping with her. I know everyone says it is dangerous, but I am safe about it. Everyone also says I will "never get her out of my bed." I don't care; I love her cuddles. Even if she gives me 16 year old cuddles. lol She is so sweet falling asleep. She likes to hold hands, caress my hands, or have me caress her hands and face. It is the greatest moment that I wish would last forever.
She is a light sleeper though. I have an issue sneaking out of the bed without her waking up, so most of the time I just lay with her.
July 1st : Here Indie had just turned two months old. My little fat-fat is wearing 3-6 months clothes at this point.
Indie loves being held, car rides, co-sleeping, smiling at her daddy, baths, food, her paci, and her disco light playmat. Indie hates having her bottle taken midway to burp, tummy time, the hiccups, and the booger sucker.
Two outfits in one day is a pretty common practice. Damn Huggies are the leakiest diapers. haha
I was trying to get a picture of her cute cupcake pants.
cupcake butt!
Here we are trying to do some tummy time...
...yeah, she is crying. Indie wasn't too keen on tummy time at first.
she loves laying on her play mat though and playing with all the dangling toys.
She is her momma's child after all. She got my monkey feet!
I have a hard time getting Indie to take daytime naps, which is okay because she is still sleeping all through the night. I'm sure most of it is me being a new mom and not knowing what the hell I'm doing. This day, I figured out if I wore her, and ran the vacuum cleaner, she would fall right to sleep. :)
July 2nd: Indie has the sweetest personality. She is so cuddly, and such a happy baby. I couldn't have been blessed with a better baby.
I love her little smile...how she scrunches her nose and squints her eyes.
Bath time wasn't her favorite at first when we were using the newborn sling, but now she LOVES bath time. I've even made up little bath time song to sing to her so she knows it's bath time.
hahah this face trips me out.
Tummy time is tolerated when on top of momma.
Sweet sleepy baby
July 4th: Indie was so happy when she woke up this morning. She let us sleep til 8:00am!
She loves smiling at her daddy .
She likes to fight her nap time too. I know she is overly-tired when she rubs her eyes like this. I think she has FOMO syndrom ( Fear of missing out). hahah
She looks pretty cozy to me!
We had to get her dressed in her red, white, and blue attire for 4th of July.
Such a cutie!
July 6th: Indie loves her hootie owl that my friend, Barb, gave her!
This was the first time Indie made eye contact with hootie, and it's safe to say she loves him.
The picture is a little dark, but I was just trying to get a picture of her bumblebee PJ's.
I know I take a ton of pics of Indie, but she will only be this little once.
Her daddy made a funny meme out of this one that said, "WHUR MUY MILK?" lol because her little fat-fat double chins.
The infamous black robe I wore pretty much every day post-partum. lol Putting on jeans after having a baby is just depressing. I still haven't comfortably wore jeans. I just keep rocking dresses. You can't have a muffin top in a dress. hahah
July 7th:
Indie was looking like a cabbage patch doll to me this day, so we did a mini photoshoot.
She looks like her Aunt Megan in this pic.
Indie was definitely looking more like the morrow side at this point.
July 9th-11th: Indie looks like a little mummy baby all swaddled in this white muslin cloth. lol
Indie loves her ba-ba.
Here is her OMG-this-ba-ba-is-so-good face.
I squeeze ( gently) and kiss her little puffy cheeks so much. This day, I was squeezing them and saying "Squishy" in a high pitched voice. She thought it was funny.
I think she was really laughing because I was laughing so hard at her.
July 12th: Man, I just realized she wore those Pj's a lot. lol
This baby knows comfort. She is sitting on a boppy on top of a boppy, with her wubby, and paci.
Caught off guard...
tummy time with daddy!
This is the face Indie makes when her ba-ba is in sight, but she hasn't received it yet. It's like she is saying, "Pllleease?!?"
July 13th-14th: Indie playing on her play mat again.
Stopped playing for a moment with mommy.
She was learning to grab toys at this point, and in this pic it looks like she saying, "Okay, I've got this grabbing toys thing down. What's next?"
We could start a college fund for Indie if we really did what her shirt says.
My friend Erin took this pic. It is our first family photo a week or so after Indie was born.
I have a ton of videos I want to post of Indie, but I have to upload them to youtube first. That will be another month's project. ( This one blog post is taking me a week to upload) lol That's mom life I suppose.
July 17th:Selfies in the bath room!
The infamous black robe again.
We went for a ride to see some peeps at A&M. She holds her paci like a security blanket. lol
July 19th: A little thumb action. Indie is very active with her hands. She loves to have them in her face, loves to touch things, love to play with toys, and loves to have her hands caressed.
Indie and daddy are the best playmates
July 22nd:
Indie and wubby are best friends too.
Tummy time is finally growing on her.
Nakedness.
July 26th: Naptime...wish the pic wasn't so dark, but it is dark during nap time. :)
3 months old! AHHH! Can't believe how fast Indie is growing up.
Indie likes silly things like sound effects, or her stuffed monkey wearing a top hat and tu-tu.
She likes putting her hands in her mouth, chewing on her clothes, her binky, sleeping in our bed, and playtime
Indie dislikes being alone, the hiccups, and getting bored. It was actually hard to come up with dislikes because she is such a good baby!
Playing with her caterpillar from Barb.
haha I love this pic.
That receipt paper book is becoming one of her favorite toys.
July 28th
July 29th:
July 29th: What a doll!
Next post will attempt to catch up from August to now. Hopefully, it won't take a week like this one did. haha
