Oct 16th: I seriously am blessed to have the most beautiful, perfect baby girl.
She is just so lovely.
Indie is always in such a chipper mood in the morning, which is when I snapped these pics. She wakes up cranky because she is hungry. After the ba-ba, she starting chirping and hooting away. She definitely has discovered her voice and makes tons of sounds, especially when we are busy getting ready for work, or cooking dinner. She knows how to make sounds to get our attention.
My friend and co-worker, Loren, gave birth to Emma a couple of weeks before I had Indie, so they are very close in age. We have been wanting to schedule a baby play date for a while, but with us moving, it was too busy on the weekends. However, we finally got to get these babies together. I ordered pizza, they came after work. It was SO ADORABLE seeing them play together and notice each other. They kept smiling at each other.
I am so lucky to have received so many baby goodies, so each baby had a place to sit and look at each other. lol
Then, we moved them to the floor for tummy and toy time.
Indie is a social butterfly. She was making noises the whole time like she was trying to talk to Emma.
Something funny happened too. Us Mommas were holding each baby up to each other, so they could be close. Indie stuck her foot out straight. Indie grabbed it and put it in her mouth. We laughed and removed Indie's foot. Then, Indie did it again. She stuck her foot out to Emma as if she were saying, "I liked that. Do it again," and Emma did! She stuck Indie's foot in her mouth again. lol
Oct 17th: Indie will be 6 months in a week. She is hitting all the milestones just on time. Some milestone she hit early like putting her feet in her mouth, rolling over, and trying to feed herself (with the bottle and the spoon).
Indie knows familiar faces and can tell when she is introduced to someone new. She likes to play with others, especially momma and daddy.
I've found she responds to the emotions we feel too. For instance, I was talking to Doc on the porch one day about being scared when I was alone. I also was talking about my nightmares lately and how I am too jumpy. At that second, a hummingbird flew right in my face and hovered. I jumped and gasped because it scared me. Indie immediately starting crying even though she was happy before. Then, I was re-telling the story and when I re-enacted what I did, she cried again!!
Indie loves looking at herself in the mirror too, which is a milestone at this age (according to Lacan and "The Mirror Stage") :P
I had her all festive and ready to Halloween. Except, we are having Halloweek because Indie has so many costumes and cute outfits to wear. I think I might take her trick-or-treating too, so I can eat her candy. hahah
Indie also knows her name now! When we say "Indie" she looks at us...when she wants to. She is a very independent little thing. She gets frustrated easy though when her toys wont do what she wants them to do.
It's always a nice feeling to get something in the mail, especially a package this cute that came from your bestie!
Gabby hooked us up FOR REAL with adorable outfits, costumes, scrapbook stickers, shoes, headbands...it was great opening that package! She takes care of us.
It means a lot to me. I know how expensive baby clothes are, and it takes a big heart to just give those away because she could have easily made money from this.
It also helps because Indie didn't have many outfits after 6 months old, so now she can have something to grow into, and boy, is she growing fast! I also love that many headbands and the moccasins were handcrafted by Gabby. Those are really the best gifts to me.
Oct 18th: Mom and Holly ( Gram and Aunt Holly) decided to swing by for a visit this day. Indie and I have been in Pj's the past few lazy Sundays they have visited, so we decided to get dressed this time.
And of course, when I saw this shirt on Indie, I thought, I have that shirt too! lol So we were twinkies that day.
Gram and Indie
Of course, we went and hung on the porch. That's my go-to move right now since it's fall.
Then we chilled in the hammocks for a bit and played from frisbee. Man, how I have missed having an outdoor space!
Then we had to get a "four generations" picture.
My sister being silly in the hammock.
Indie struggles taking a nap at daycare because it is so loud in there, so when I get her home, she is usually very tired. I actually make an environment for her to comfortably fall asleep. At night, I give her a lavender bath, put lavender lotion on her, get a clean, dry diaper on her, put her pjs on, read a story or sing to her, turn on her night lights ( the star projectors), turn on her music box, give her her wubby and binki, spray lavender scented sleepy spray, and cuddle with her.
Here we are doing what we do best: cuddling.
Aunt Holly made Indie a minion toy at Build a Bear. His name is Bob. She loves him!
Funny story about Bob: Jes kept pronouncing his name "Bab" like he was doing a Wisconsin accent when he said Bob. Later Jesse said, "It's cool they put his name on him." I looked at Bob and said, "What are you talking about?" He said, "Look at the foot. It says "BAB". I'm like, "Babe, that stands for Build A Bear." hahahha Even Doc laughed at that one.
Speaking of Uncle Doc, Indie likes to pull his beard. lol Indie likes to pull hair period, no matter on the head or the face.
Indie had picture day at daycare!!
I can't wait to see how the pictures turned out.
I had to put some red tight on her for the pictures though, because I was afraid the dress kept itching her legs.
My dad made her on of his infamous "tie-dye" shirts with bleach. lol She kind of looks like my cousin Brian in this photo.
It has been so rainy here the past two days. It is making me sleeeeepy. I slept the entire weekend away.
10/24: Saturday, I woke up and decided to make Indie's first baby food. I tried carrots. She really liked the taste, and ate it well. Later that night though, it was puke city. She threw up... A LOT. I thought maybe she was allergic to the carrots, but this morning, Jesse starting throwing up too. Maybe it was a little 24 hours bug?? I don't know.
I'm glad it is so rainy and cool outside now though, so we can open the windows to the house. When you have a sick baby and hubby, it can smell stanky being cooped up all day. lol
I was going to start dieting but this happened. Jes went on a junk food run and brought home the BEST ice cream ever, a Magnum. It's coated in dark chocolate and has caramel in it too. It's soooo yummy.
Indie wanted a taste too. She was reaching for it the whole time. It feels so mean to eat good food in front of her when she can't have it yet. lol One day, Indie, momma will get you some ice cream.
She still wasn't feel 100%, but my happy baby always finds a reason to smile.
Showing off her boots. :)
