Betty Boasts about Baby

Oct 16th: I seriously am blessed to have the most beautiful, perfect baby girl.

She is just so lovely.
Indie is always in such a chipper mood in the morning, which is when I snapped these pics. She wakes up cranky because she is hungry. After the ba-ba, she starting chirping and hooting away. She definitely has discovered her voice and makes tons of sounds, especially when we are busy getting ready for work, or cooking dinner. She knows how to make sounds to get our attention.

My friend and co-worker, Loren, gave birth to Emma a couple of weeks before I had Indie, so they are very close in age. We have been wanting to schedule a baby play date for a while, but with us moving, it was too busy on the weekends. However, we finally got to get these babies together. I ordered pizza, they came after work. It was SO ADORABLE seeing them play together and notice each other. They kept smiling at each other.
I am so lucky to have received so many baby goodies, so each baby had a place to sit and look at each other. lol

Then, we moved them to the floor for tummy and toy time.

Neither of them like tummy time, so they ended up on their backs.

Indie is a social butterfly. She was making noises the whole time like she was trying to talk to Emma.

Something funny happened too. Us Mommas were holding each baby up to each other, so they could be close. Indie stuck her foot out straight. Indie grabbed it and put it in her mouth. We laughed and removed Indie's foot. Then, Indie did it again. She stuck her foot out to Emma as if she were saying, "I liked that. Do it again," and Emma did! She stuck Indie's foot in her mouth again. lol

Oct 17th: Indie will be 6 months in a week. She is hitting all the milestones just on time. Some milestone she hit early like putting her feet in her mouth, rolling over, and trying to feed herself (with the bottle and the spoon).

Indie knows familiar faces and can tell when she is introduced to someone new. She likes to play with others, especially momma and daddy.

I've found she responds to the emotions we feel too. For instance, I was talking to Doc on the porch one day about being scared when I was alone. I also was talking about my nightmares lately and how I am too jumpy. At that second, a hummingbird flew right in my face and hovered. I jumped and gasped because it scared me. Indie immediately starting crying even though she was happy before. Then, I was re-telling the story and when I re-enacted what I did, she cried again!!

Indie loves looking at herself in the mirror too, which is a milestone at this age (according to Lacan and "The Mirror Stage") :P

I had her all festive and ready to Halloween. Except, we are having Halloweek because Indie has so many costumes and cute outfits to wear. I think I might take her trick-or-treating too, so I can eat her candy. hahah

Indie also knows her name now! When we say "Indie" she looks at us...when she wants to. She is a very independent little thing. She gets frustrated easy though when her toys wont do what she wants them to do.

It's always a nice feeling to get something in the mail, especially a package this cute that came from your bestie!

Gabby hooked us up FOR REAL with adorable outfits, costumes, scrapbook stickers, shoes, headbands...it was great opening that package! She takes care of us.

It means a lot to me. I know how expensive baby clothes are, and it takes a big heart to just give those away because she could have easily made money from this.

It also helps because Indie didn't have many outfits after 6 months old, so now she can have something to grow into, and boy, is she growing fast! I also love that many headbands and the moccasins were handcrafted by Gabby. Those are really the best gifts to me.

Oct 18th: Mom and Holly ( Gram and Aunt Holly) decided to swing by for a visit this day. Indie and I have been in Pj's the past few lazy Sundays they have visited, so we decided to get dressed this time.

And of course, when I saw this shirt on Indie, I thought, I have that shirt too! lol So we were twinkies that day.

Gram and Indie

Of course, we went and hung on the porch. That's my go-to move right now since it's fall.

Then we chilled in the hammocks for a bit and played from frisbee. Man, how I have missed having an outdoor space!

Then we had to get a "four generations" picture.

My sister being silly in the hammock.

Indie struggles taking a nap at daycare because it is so loud in there, so when I get her home, she is usually very tired. I actually make an environment for her to comfortably fall asleep. At night, I give her a lavender  bath, put lavender lotion on her, get a clean, dry diaper on her, put her pjs on, read a story or sing to her, turn on her night lights ( the star projectors), turn on her music box, give her her wubby and binki, spray lavender scented sleepy spray, and cuddle with her.
Here we are doing what we do best: cuddling.

Aunt Holly made Indie a minion toy at Build a Bear. His name is Bob. She loves him!

Funny story about Bob: Jes kept pronouncing his name "Bab" like he was doing a Wisconsin accent when he said Bob. Later Jesse said, "It's cool they put his name on him." I looked at Bob and said, "What are you talking about?" He said, "Look at the foot. It says "BAB". I'm like, "Babe, that stands for Build A Bear." hahahha Even Doc laughed at that one.

Speaking of Uncle Doc, Indie likes to pull his beard. lol Indie likes to pull hair period, no matter on the head or the face.

Indie had picture day at daycare!!

I can't wait to see how the pictures turned out.

I had to put some red tight on her for the pictures though, because I was afraid the dress kept itching her legs.

My dad made her on of his infamous "tie-dye" shirts with bleach. lol She kind of looks like my cousin Brian in this photo.

It has been so rainy here the past two days. It is making me sleeeeepy. I slept the entire weekend away.
10/24: Saturday, I woke up and decided to make Indie's first baby food. I tried carrots. She really liked the taste, and ate it well. Later that night though, it was puke city. She threw up... A LOT. I thought maybe she was allergic to the carrots, but this morning, Jesse starting throwing up too. Maybe it was a little 24 hours bug?? I don't know.

I'm glad it is so rainy and cool outside now though, so we can open the windows to the house. When you have a sick baby and hubby, it can smell stanky being cooped up all day. lol

I was going to start dieting but this happened. Jes went on a junk food run and brought home the BEST ice cream ever, a Magnum. It's coated in dark chocolate and has caramel in it too. It's soooo yummy.

Indie wanted a taste too. She was reaching for it the whole time. It feels so mean to eat good food in front of her when she can't have it yet. lol One day, Indie, momma will get you some ice cream.

She still wasn't feel 100%, but my happy baby always finds a reason to smile.

Showing off her boots. :)

Betty Backtracks Vo. 3

09:01: This is what happens when you leave baby alone with daddy. hahah! He was singing/making-up some kind of silly song about head dresses. She looks like a little lion though!
09/05:
Jes was being a lil toot and turned his head when I was taking the pic, but I thought it was cute how they were sitting together.

Using daddy's arms as an arm rest

09/06: Mom, holly, and perry came to see us. We met at Jason's Deli because we were still living in the up stairs apartment, and Perry can't get up the steps due to his strokes. I'm so happy they came to visit us though and that we could have dinner together.

Indie and Aunt Holly

Indie and Gram

We gave Indie a taste of ice cream that day and she WANTED MORE. lol

09/07: Jeff, Tammy, and Tailor came to visit the next day. We took them to see our new house we were getting ready to move into.  It was soooo hot this day, snow cones sounded real good. Indie was reaching for my ice cream the day before, and this day she was reaching for my snow cone. I got blue coconut with cream. That is my favorite flavor.

09/08: My precious sleeping girl snug as a bug in a rug.

09/09: My dad bought Indie these skull and crossbone PJ's.

09/09: Aye, Aye Captain Indie!

What a cutie!!

09/10: So I was getting ready for work, and I hear Indie fussing in her bassinet. I walk over and she is intently staring at this bottle that was on the shelf. I thought it was funny, she thought this was a real big ba-ba. Sorry, baby, it's just your piggy bank.

09/11: There is no place I'd rather be in the world, than holding hands and snuggling with Indie.

09/14: Indie had a little cold here, which is why her nose looks so red. She was still trying to be chipper even as a sick girl.

09/14: Indie is not easy to get to sleep sometimes. We have to do the nightly routine: bottle, lavendar bath, lavendar lotion, dry diaper, pj's, lavendar scented spray, nightlights, music box, story time, then cuddling til we fall asleep. This night she conked out with out the whole routine. I was sitting watching TV and visiting with Doc and Erin and BOOM, next thing I know this child is passed out cold.

09/15: My little daisy!

09/16: We have been fortunate to receive  gifts and clothes from friends and family. I try to get as amny pics as I can of Indie modeling her outfits.

09/17: Looking especially cute today!

I love this color on her.

Indie looks like the traditional Gerber baby to me sometimes.

Actually, this is the photo I entered to the Gerber baby contest. I hope she wins. Momma could use that money.

09/19: We are moved into our new house at this point. Aunt Megan and Uncle Dustin came to visit to see Indie and see our new set-up.

Indie was mesmerized by the facial hair.

Indie hasn't been a fan of facial hair at first, but I think she warmed up to it.

She kept pulling his beard. haha

That hat look so huge on her!

She had a busy day playing and visiting, so she conked out for a bit.

Indie and Aunt Megan.

I was walking around outside in our back yard, exploring a bit and what-not. I'm so happy to have a yard again. I found this little swing too! I thought it was cute. My friend, Erin, was swinging in it and it broke though. Sad day...maybe we can fix it eventually.

09/20: This is the day I discovered Indie's love for tags. She had all the awesome baby toys surrounding her, yet, she wants to play with the tag on the toy.

Safe to say, after this discovery, I bought her one of those blankets that has tags all the way around it.

9/20: Indie is sitting like a big girl now!

We love hanging out on the porch. The weather is starting to cool off finally.

She likes when we push her around in this. Sometimes it even is pre-game for naptime.

Here is a pic of our friends, Doc and Erin. Doc is our roomate too. I thought this was a nice pic of them.

I'm glad we get to hang out with them after Indie goes down for the night. I've never lived with my friends before, or even had a roomate, but I do like it!

09/23: Indie was all dressed up for the first day of fall. She is in her outfit from Tmaw .

Here is also a behind the scenes shot of how I get Indie to smile for photos sometimes.

It's her little owl, Hootie.

09/24:

This is what Indie looks like when I'm getting ready for work. She is just chillin with me in the bathroom.

She is playing with what is becoming one of her favorite toys. She really like the crunchy, receipt paper toys, which is what this books feels like.

she looks JUST like me as a baby in this pic. lol

Some days she is such a squirmy wormy, we can't catch a decent photo.

09/25: More porch hangs!

I think we spend more time on the porch than we do inside right now. haha

\
But we've been in that apartment for so long, we have some porch hanging catching up to do.

Indie wasn't too interested in what I was writing or drawing. She is happy as long as someone is holding her.

That's okay though, the sidewalk chalk is definitely more a toy for momma anyway.

Indie had to get her bath after playing outside. I asked jes to snap a pic of her adorable baby butt!

I wish my cellulite looked this cute. hah!

Happy baby and happy momma

09/25: I bought this onesie when I first found out I was pregnant. Indie looks so cute in her monster Pj's .

I was singing the monster mash to her all night. haha

09/26:
Jesse's cousin Crystal sent Indie some hand-me-downs. Here she is sporting the cupcake outfit.

Jeff and Tammy came again  to take us out for dinner. We were celebrating Jesse's birthday. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings.

In the past, Indie has not done so well in restaurants when we try to eat. I guess its too loud and too busy for what she is used to. This time, Indie was good! I enjoyed being able to eat in a restaurant again.

I asked family to snap a family pic of us when we got back.

09/27: Mom, Holly, and Perry came the next day. They wanted to see us and check out our new place too. Here we are again...on the porch. hahah!!

Indie and Gram

Indie and Aunt Holly

09/28:
Of course, every parent thinks their baby is the cutest baby on the face of the planet. Well, my baby actually IS the cutest baby on the face of the planet :P. I entered her in the Gerber baby contest. She has already won in my eyes. I really just did it for a chance to that moolah, because we really need it. There were more rules to that contest than I anticipated: no picture over 30 days old, no naked pictures, baby must be only subject in photo, no duplicate entries, no professional photos, plus about 3 pages more of rules. dang...lol

Looking cute in orange!

Jesse's counsin sent Indie some hand me downs. WE LOVE HAND-ME-DOWNS. Most of Indie's clothes I received as gifts were 0-6 months, so we were needing some bigger sizes.

Indie's "I'm waiting for my bottle" face. haha She is fabulous!

09/29: Jesse turned 29 this year! I bought him a cheescake, some Gusanos pizza and sandwiches, and a massage, which he has really been needing with his hurt back and all. Then we just hung out with our friends, Erin and Doc, and watched movies and pigged out. Hey, that is what we do best.

Indie and daddy on his birthday

09/30: Aunt Megan got Indie a pair of shoes, and they are SO adorable.

Indie was a little skeptical of them at first. haha

10/02: We had to go to the doctor this day because my poor baby keeps getting sick from daycare kids. She has had a permanent cold since she started!  I can't get and keep her well. :( She looks like such a sleeping angel while we were waiting for the doctor, so I snapped a pic.

10/03: I get more and more behind on taking month to month photos. One day, I will get my life together. haha

Indie is 5 months old now! Indie likes her ba-ba, play-time, singing songs, ( mainly "If You're Happy and You Know It, and The Itsy Bitsy Spider") story books, cuddling, momma and daddy, car rides, and being surprised.

Indie dislikes her bottle being taken away when it's empty, nap time, tummy time, and the booger sucker.

She can hold her own bottle and toys now. She can roll over, and sit up with support.

She becomes more vocal everyday. She really likes to talk. She loves to scream too. lol

She has the cutest little personality. I love spending every moment with her.

She's rocking her skater girl look today.

THIS is the picture I should have sent to Gerber. lol I took it too late.

10/03: I rocked her to sleep and went to put her down in my bed. I wanted a pic to remind myself how sweet these moments are. I hope they never go away.

I love sidewalk chalk. It's such a fun way to kill time. We've been drawing during our porch hangs. I like how everytime we have a visitor they contribute to the mural.

So far, Jesse, me, Erin G., Doc, Zoe ( Doc's neice), Erin D., Lorelai, Mom, Holly, Dad, and Brad have contributed little drawings.

I've been real stressed and depressed lately. I'm back on Lexapro. I just couldn't deal anymore. I was having to leave the room to go cry all the time. I really went spiraling down when I had to come back to work and take Indie to daycare. I'm still not okay with someone raising my child and me missing out on her life. I'm not okay with seeing her 3 hours a day, and I never will be. I hope one day I will have the opportunity to stay home with her. Jes is sweet to me. I imagine it's hard living and dealing with an overly anxious person. He bought me this coloring book to cheer me up. Coloring is a good way to de-stress too.

It only took me a couple of weeks to finish these two pages. haha Indie def gets all of mommies time.

I tried to color this one to look like our Chihuahua, Winnie.

One more pic of my sweets in her outfit before bath time.

10/04: Indie always wakes up in such a good mood in the mornings. She is so cuddly in the bed, touches our faces, or holds our hands. She is very vocal in the morning too. She does most of her talking then. She has also started excitingly screaming. It's so cute! She really is learning how to use her voice.

She also likes when we hang out on the porch. She likes it outside, and the weather is so nice. Sometimes we have to come in because of mosquitoes though. :( Thank to Winnie though for providing endless entertainment for Indie. haha She just watches Winnie run and play fetch all over the yard.
10/05: Mommy and daughter selfies!

Bath time! Indie loves bath time!

10/07: My little rainbow brite

10/09: Jesse left for a conference, which left me alone for 3 days. I can't do it by myself very easily, so Jesse's mom, Tammy, came over to help me. It was so nice! She had pancakes and coffee ready for me when I woke up for work. She had lunch ready for me when I got home. AND  COOKIES! She also brought Indie toys, clothes, and lots of love. She really spoiled us girls.

Indie loves this flying saucer/space station Tammy got for her. Indie gets bored with toys pretty quick, but with this once, the seat spins. When she gets bored with a toy, she can move on to the next one. haha

Indie and TMaw

My dad and brother came the next day to keep us company. Here is Indie and Uncle Brad. He was scared to hold her when she was tee-tiny, but she isnt so scary now.

Dad brought her this lion because it looks like Pikachu.

Indie and Papa Scott taking a nap. They both look so tired!

Brad caught a nap too. He was tired from partying the night before.

10/11:
Indie is back in her saucer! She is going to be spending a lot of time in that toy. lol

Look at her standing like a big girl!

She keeps looking at herself in the mirror. I'd be staring at the mirror too, Indie, if my face was as lovable as yours!!
